Kumarakom is also famous for the rich greens, rural life, mangrove forests, captivating coconut canopies, swaying palms, enchanting water ways and canals meandering through pulsating paddy fields and the breathtaking beautiful beaches. Travel to Kumarakom is incomplete without a visit to the Vembanad Lake. There are many backwater cruises that take place in the fresh waters of this lake. Not to be missed are the boat races, houseboat cruise, canoeing and fishing in Kumarakom. There is no parallel to the experience of watching endless miles of snaking waterways, flanked on both sides by bowing palm trees.
