The present Mrs Gruntfuttock was out delivering Baywatch today and had to swerve to avoid what she at first thought was a meat pie in the road. Then she though it may be a new roundabout they'd put in, but it turned out to be a tortoise!
Anyroad up, she chased it and managed - after half an hour - to catch it and after a strenuous tussle wrestled it to the ground and put it into a box in the car.
He (or she - I dunno how to sex a tortoise) is now residing at a foster home, so if Speedy is yours call us and we'll put you in touch.

Hiya Cadiza,
It was in El Berueco - a long way from Eroski for a tortoise without a motorbike! ;D
Acksherly, I heard just last night that The Present Mrs Gruntfuttock was mistaken, it's apparently a large Terrapin and it is now settled in it's foster home until claimed.

Hi It might be a Spanish Pond turtle: www.flickr.com/photos/24647321@N02/5665034871/We found one in our garden in Chiclana a couple of winters ago when everywhere was so wet. Saw it a few times, they appear to bury themselves in the soil too, as we saw it partially buried a couple of times. Not seen it for at least a year now but could still be around.

Hi Floriana,
Yes, you're right, it was a turtle/terrapin as you suggested. The present Mrs Gruntfuttock isn't as informed about these things as you are.
However, said aminal is now residing in a large pond with other like-minded aquatic things, so all's well that ends well, as they say.
